BPMN is a standard maintained by Object Management Group. BPMN defines how to model a business process. The latest version of BPMN standard is BPMN 2.0.
A simple BPMN process consists of Start event, Activity and End event
Its a best practice to name the events. Note that the Start event, end event and activity are named.
To understand the flow of business process, we use an imaginary concept called Token. To identify the flow of a business process, we say the token travels through that flow.
Below is an example of how the token flows from Start to End, which signifies there is one happy path flow in the process.
